The Power of Purpose

“There is one quality which one must possess to win, and that is definiteness of purpose, the knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to possess it.” –Napoleon Hill

Purpose and motivation have been on my mind a fair amount lately.

There are two questions I get asked on a regular basis:

How do you have the motivation to exercise so much?

What keeps you motivated to build your coaching business along with your day job?

The truth is, it’s not motivation.

I’m not motivated to wake up at 4:45am for a cycling class or to run a handful of miles.  I dread when the alarm goes off and every single time I lay there and think about how great another hour of sleep would be.

What gets me out of bed is purpose.  I want to make my son proud. I want him to be proud that his mom is a triathlete and competes in half Ironman events.  I can’t wait to take our finish line photos in Kona and for me to show them to him when he’s older.

And what about taking on coaching and coaching training/certification?  It’s simple. This is my purpose. I was meant to be a coach and I believe that in my core.

I believe I am here to enable, support, and challenge people to be their best and build the life they deserve.

My purpose is to be the gasoline that turns your inner flame into a blazing bonfire.

What is your purpose?  What lights you up inside?  When are you at your absolute best?

Let these questions challenge you.  Let these thoughts spark an internal drive that supersedes any early morning alarms and charges you forward towards your more full life.
