Today’s Action is Tomorrow’s Life

Let’s explore today’s actions that will shape tomorrow’s leadership, career, and life.

Will you go on a journey with me?

Of course you will!  You’re just as hungry for adventure and travel as I am!  And on this adventure...wait for it...we can be near one another!

Ok, so here we go….

It’s December 2021.  We’ve just enjoyed a Thanksgiving holiday with friends and family.  We’ve largely retired our masks.  We’ve resumed hugs.  We’ve returned to long, intimate dinners inside.  Childcare is once again available.  Our kids have returned to small playdates and in person school.

Now pause for a second to breathe it in.  I’m serious.  Take a deep breath.  Inhale 1...2...3.  Exhale 1...2...3.

12 months from now - Who will you be?  Where will you be?  What will you be?

I’ve never been a fan of New Year’s resolutions.  Why do we need a date on the calendar to universally make new commitments?  Not to mention, resolution fail rates are astounding.  They don’t stick because they lack resonant purpose and lack challenging and meaningful action.

So I ask again…12 months from now - Who will you be?  Where will you be?  What will you be?

Write it down.  What’s important to you about who, where, and what you will be?

And what if you asked these questions of those around you?  Your partner?  Your kids?  Those you lead?  Your business partner?

As a former favorite leader of mine used to say, “this is where the rubber meets the road.”

There’s a series of decisions, and more importantly, actions that will make the difference between reaching that vision and not.

What are they?

What’s the first decision you need to make to be who, where, and what you envision for December 2021?

Close your eyes.  What is it?  Will you do it?  What will it require of you?

When I see my December 2021, I will be flexible, independent, and grounded.  I will be in Park Hill, Denver with my husband and son with views of the Rocky Mountains everywhere we go.  I will be an Executive Coach and Facilitator who specifically empowers women to be leaders and business owners.

Today I plan to make my future self proud.  How about you?
